Welcome

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Non-Executive Director of the Board of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT).

I welcome your interest, and I hope that you will enjoy finding out more about our organisation and these roles through this website.

MCHFT provides a comprehensive range of acute, maternity and child health services for an economically diverse and largely semi-rural population of circa 300,000 people.  We operate from three main sites in Crewe, Northwich and Winsford serving the communities of Alsager, Crewe, Congleton, Holmes Chapel, Knutsford, Middlewich, Nantwich, Northwich, Sandbach, Winsford and areas bordering North Staffordshire.  MCHFT is a well regarded high performing Trust committed to quality, safety, continuous improvement and innovation.

We are part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership, a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community health services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.  Our future success is set against a backdrop of challenging health and social care budgets and the need to work in partnership with others to achieve even greater efficiencies and seek continuous quality improvement.

We are seeking two Non-Executive Directors to contribute to our Board of Directors and Council of Governors and share our passion and focus on the provision of safe, high quality and sustainable services which meet the needs of our population.

Already an experienced, motivated and highly skilled individual at board level and living within the local authority areas of Cheshire East or Cheshire West and Chester, you will bring additional expertise to complement our existing Board of Directors. For one position, we are looking for people with recent and significant financial experience, with the associated UK financial qualifications and membership, as this role will also Chair the Audit Committee. For the second, we are keen to consider those with experience that will add complementary value to our existing Board.  As such, backgrounds of interest include those with workforce engagement expertise, primary care or commercial sector experience.

In each case you would be expected to provide a demonstrable track record of success in current or previous roles.

I hope that you are attracted by the prospect of joining our Board and helping us to achieve and sustain excellent healthcare services for the benefit of the communities that we serve.

I would encourage you in the first instance to contact our recruitment partners at GatenbySanderson for an informal discussion; Michelle Shirley, John Wilson or Emma Pickup, on 0113 205 6074.

I wish you well with your application.

Yours sincerely,

Dennis Dunn
Trust Chairman and Chairman of the Appointing Committee
